    Description

    encompasses 1) materials, methods, and content of teaching mathematics to students in the early and middle childhood (ages 3 to 14); 2) past, present, and future of mathematics education; 3) development theories of how children learn mathematical concepts; 4) historical, cultural development of mathematics; 5) the use of technology in problem solving situations and in understanding mathematics; 6) recommendations of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) on mathematics standards, performance, and assessment; & 7) and incorporation of and alignment to Ohio Standards of the Teaching Profession and Ohio Standards for Learning. 3 credits
