Please read the following policies regarding course transfer:
• I understand that approval of this petition is only for the specified college and course(s) listed above. If I enroll in any other institution or course(s), no guarantees are made that they will be accepted in transfer by the University. I understand that a course taken at another institution will not replace the grade of a course previously completed at Franciscan University and that I cannot receive credit for a transfer course for which I have earned credit at Franciscan University. All other policies as they apply to the acceptance of transfer credit from other accredited institutions apply. An official transcript of the above course work must be received by Franciscan University of Steubenville, Office of the Registrar, during the first semester following completion of the approved course(s).
• I understand that if I enroll at another college or university as a full-time student in a non-summer term between terms of attendance at Franciscan University, I will be considered a re-applicant transfer student and I must re-apply for admission. If readmitted, I understand it will be under the provisions of the catalog in effect at that time. Taking courses at another institution over the summer does not disrupt my enrollment status at Franciscan University.
• I understand that I must earn a C (2.00 GPA) or above for credits to be accepted in transfer by Franciscan University.
• I understand that my last fifteen (15) consecutive credit hours toward an associate degree and my last thirty (30) consecutive credit hours toward a baccalaureate degree must be completed at Franciscan University. With the approval of my department chair, I may be permitted to take up to 3 of the last 15 credit hours toward an associate degree or 6 of the last 30 credits toward a baccalaureate degree at another institution.
NOTE: Credits taken outside of Franciscan University WILL NOT be combined with Franciscan University credits for the purpose of determining eligibility for financial aid or scholarships, unless they are taken as a part of a pre-approved study abroad or formal consortium agreement.
• I understand that I must complete at least 62 credit hours at Franciscan University in order to be eligible to graduate with academic honors (i.e., cum laude).
