    Description

    Teaching Strategies is taken in conjunction with student teaching (clinical practice) and provides teaching candidates the opportunity to analyze teaching theory, apply best teaching practices within specific licensure areas, and evaluate student learning. The course is designed to enable candidates in teacher education to acquire knowledge as professional educators, work more effectively and reflectively in the classroom, analyze their own teaching from various perspectives, and promote high levels of academic achievement for all students. Candidates develop and implement the Educative Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA), which entails the creation of a professional portfolio with the following artifacts: context for learning, central focus, pre/post-assessment, videoed learning segment, detailed lesson plans, and planning, instruction, and assessment commentaries.
